About H.E. Group Ltd.
By 1986, H. E. Services had grown to become one of the largest dedicated construction & civil engineering, heavy-plant hire company in the UK.
With several other diverse but related enterprises in the mix as well as a rapidly expanding property portfolio, the decision was made to consolidate the ownership, management and expansion of all the various H. E. companies, divisions and properties under one holding company, and thus H. E. Group Ltd was incorporated.
H. E. Group now comprises:
Three subsidiaries – H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd, Masterhitch Europe Ltd and H. E. Construction Services Ltd.
Five divisions – EVision Electric Vehicles, International Plant Sales, The Finishing Touch, Diggerland Plant Training School, EV Sales and;
One affiliate company – AllSafety Ltd., which owns and operates the three UK-wide, Diggerland Adventure Parks.
The UK’s largest specialist Excavator Plant Hire company, H.E. SERVICES boasts a fleet exceeding 3500 items of plant, which are offered for hire nationwide via ten strategically located depots.

Since the first ever JCB backhoe loader rolled off the production line in Staffordshire in 1953, it seems that every little boy fantasized about driving one! Most of course grow up to pursue different careers or professions. Some however grow up to work in construction or civil engineering and become digger & dumper operators.
Well, Hugh Edeleanu did both of these. As a 16 year old he went out and bought a second-hand JCB! He then offered himself and his machine for hire to construction and civil engineering sites in Kent and the south-east. This was all whilst he studied at King’s School Canterbury and then later graduated from Cambridge University with a BSc. Honours degree in engineering and continued on to earn his MA before launching what was the first ever, self drive construction-plant hire company in Europe, H.E. Services! A company which has been the definitive model for others to emulate and has since grown to become both world-class and one of the largest in Europe.
