Job Title: Plant Fitter/Yard Person

Reporting to: The Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 7.30am – 5pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch

Salary: £14.00 – £16.00 per hour depending on experience + overtime

Location: Ashford – TN23 6LZ

Purpose:

We have a vacancy for a Plant Fitter/Yard Person to join our busy team based out of our Ashford Depot. You will be required to provide effective servicing requirements for heavy plant machinery. Yard duties will include cleaning machinery and pre-inspection on our plant and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities:

As part of your duties you will be required to attend to routine servicing and maintenance of heavy plant machinery including Telehandlers, Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Tracked loaders (Bobcats) etc. Diagnostic checks and fault finding. Repairs as necessary to ensure hire equipment is fit for purpose. Completion of pre and post hire checks.

General yard duties include depot maintenance and compliance with internal procedures.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with heavy construction plant and equipment
  • Work to high standards, with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with depot personnel and customers.
  • Full driving licence
  • Own basic tools

Job Title: Plant Hire Manager

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm, 1 hour unpaid lunch

Salary: Competitive

Location: Daventry – NN11 4HB

Purpose:

We are looking for an experienced Plant Hire Manager to join our friendly team based at our Daventry Depot where you will be responsible for the day to day smooth running of a busy plant hire service.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will manage and oversee hire orders with suppliers ensuring a high standard of service to both clients and customers. You will be required to deal with the initial inquiry stage through to quotation, follow up, processing of the hire orders and transport to their site. The Plant Hire Manager will be responsible for and manage a small team of delivery drivers, mobile and workshop plant fitters and yard staff on a daily basis. You will report to the Depot Manager and be trained by the Depot Manager as part of the company’s forward thinking strategy to identify and prepare high potential employees for future leadership roles.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Background in plant / transport (desirable)
  • Previous managerial experience role
  • Able to work Independently and as part of a team
  • Methodical and organised
  • Experienced in purchasing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Friendly disposition with a team orientated approach
  • Experienced in managing a small team of up to 10 staff
  • Full driving licence
  • IT literate (Microsoft office products)
  • Experience in customer service

JOB DESCRIPTION: HGV Class 1 Driver

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8.00 – 4.30pm less 30min lunch but some early starts and weekend work may be required

Salary: Competitive

Location: Hungerford 

Purpose:

To join an established team of drivers within our Hungerford Depot working for the UK’s largest specialist excavator hire company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collection and delivery of a range of equipment to customers across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. The role will involve the loading, delivery and collecting of construction equipment including Diggers, Dumpers, Telehandlers etc). Driver must be confident to be able to load and unload the equipment onto the lorry and deliver it safely and also participate in yard duties.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience – minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience commercially in the UK
  • Driving Licence with C+E category, CPC Qualification Card, DQC
  • Experience preferred in operating/moving plant but training can be given.
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to work some additional or weekend hours is desirable
  • Driving experience: 5 years
  • Load & Secure (preferred)

Purpose:

To join an established team of drivers within our Ashford Depot working for the UK’s largest specialist excavator hire company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collection and delivery of a range of equipment including mini digger to heavy plant hire to customers across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. The role will involve the loading, delivery and collecting of construction equipment. Driver must be confident to be able to load and unload the equipment onto the lorry and deliver it safely.
If you are not out driving, you will be required to assist in the yard with ad hoc duties.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience – minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience commercially in the UK
  • Driving Licence with C category (+E would be advantageous), CPC Qualification Card, Tacho Card
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to work some additional or weekend hours is desirable
  • Previous plant hire experience preferred.

We are looking for a Hire & Sales Controller to join our friendly team based at our Liverpool office. Your primary responsibility is to ensure smooth facilitation of hire contracts with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will make customer service calls, manage hire orders with clients ensuring a high standard of service. You will be required to speak to clients who have not used their account, deal with initial inquiry stage through to processing the hire, liaising with our depots and departments and all related administration, invoice query management and resolving customer queries. A confident telephone manner will ensure you are able to promote the Company’s range of products and services, generate new leads and build lasting relationships with our clients.

General Manager - EVision Electric Vehicles

Purpose:

To provide Electric Hire Vehicles across the UK in order to promote green transport options to businesses and individuals on a short and long term contract.

Primary Responsibilities:

Oversee all aspects of EVision to ensure continued efficiency across the hire and operational teams. Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Overall control of all EVision activity, personnel and vehicles, reporting directly to the Chairman.
  • To be consulted on all change requests for any functions within EVision.  Attend the Senior Management Meeting as the EVision representative.
    Carrying out regular audits of vehicles to ensure accountability – 1st PA.
  • Motivate and manage staff to ensure competency.
  • Dealing with major problems that occur including thefts and major damage to vehicles, fraudulent hires, etc.
  • Full accountability for the profit and loss of the EVision business.
  • Inspire and motivate the sales staff to meet and exceed company targets.
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager and the Service Manager.
  • Carry out all ordering of new vehicles, liaising with manufacturers and dealers.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Good understanding of EVs
  • Hire car awareness and related legislation
  • Organisational and strategic thinking
  • Have leadership experience and ability to coach and mentor a team
  • Excellent communication skills
