Plant Fitter/Yard Person - H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd - Okehampton Depot, Devon

Job Title: Yard Person/Plant Fitter

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours ½ hour unpaid lunch, overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours

Salary: £Depending on experience.

Location: Okehampton Devon

Purpose:

We’re looking for a hard-working and reliable Yard Person/Fitter who takes pride in their work to join our friendly team. The ideal person will have a drivers licence, a can do attitude and enjoy manual work. You will provide effective fitting and servicing requirements for heavy plant machinery. You will be expected to manage your time efficiently and effectively whilst developing/maintaining relationships with our customers. You will be provided with a company van to enable you to reach our clients (which must be returned to site each evening)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Servicing, maintenance and repair of heavy plant equipment to include 1.5T to 50T excavators, wheeled excavators, long reach excavators, dumpers, dump trucks, rollers, telehandlers and various attachments.
  • Investigating, diagnosing and repairing machine faults.
  • Carry out pre and post hire checks
  • General yard duties to include maintenance of sepot and compliance with internal procedures.
  • Maintain clean and tidy organised yard.
  • Willingness to start early, work late if required, overtime available at 1.5 x hourly rate.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with heavy contruction equipment.
  • Full driving licence
  • CSCS card.
  • Can do attitude.
  • Ability to build good working relationships with depot personnel.
  • Work to high standards, with good attention to detail.
  • Own tools.

Job Title: Hire and Sales Controller

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 6pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)

Salary: £28,571.40 per annum

Location: Durham

Purpose:

We are looking for a Hire & Sales Controller to join our friendly team based at our Durham office. Your primary responsibility is to ensure smooth facilitation of hire contracts with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.

Primary Responsibilities:

You will make customer service calls, manage hire orders with clients ensuring a high standard of service. You will be required to speak to clients who have not used their account, deal with initial inquiry stage through to processing the hire, liaising with our depots and departments and all related administration, invoice query management and resolving customer queries. A confident telephone manner will ensure you are able to promote the Company’s range of products and services, generate new leads and build lasting relationships with our clients.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous hire experience desirable but not essential
  • Methodical and organised
  • Confident but friendly communication skills
  • Team orientated
  • Good standard of English and Maths to GCSE (or equivalent) standard

Plant & Transport Admin Assistant - Head Office, Strood, Kent

Job Title: Transport and Plant Admin Assistant

Reporting to: Transport and Plant Manager

Working Hours: Mon – Fri / 9am to 5pm / one hour lunch (unpaid) 35 hours per week. Can be flexible and discussed at interview.

Salary: £12.21 per hour

Location: Strood

Purpose:

A position has arisen to join our small admin team to support the administration processes for our Transport and Plant Department. You will be an organised administrator capable of prioritising your workload. You must be comfortable working alone on occasion (when the other administrator is off site) and as part of a team. Attention to detail is paramount as you will be required to record and collate detailed information including number plates and numerical information both online and manually. A good standard of written English also required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • QR Code Process – inputting data from new machine forms – upkeep maintenance of HEQR website / creating new web pages for machines and cars and creating ordering forms for new stickers to be created.
  • Processing new machines and sale machine forms.
  • Creating EVSM (electric vehicle service module) on relevant spreadsheets such as CEC (current electric cars) and CEV (current electric vans)
  • Monthly Audits which include checks of; Taxes, London congestion charge, MOT dates and insurances.
  • Completing vehicle and plant tax requests including the update of relevant spreadsheets / actioning SORN requests.
  • Scanning hard copies of V5s and Conformities onto the system and related filing
  • Applying for LCC (London Congestion Charge) for new vehicles and renewing for old vehicles.
  • Monthly preparation of crossing logs for Group & Plant Tyne tunnel accounts.
  • Managing spare key cupboard – ensuring authorisation for sign in/out
  • Managing Penalty Charge Notices – important daily task.
  • Dealing with enquiries for our National Self Storage facility.
  • Other Adhoc tasks.

Workshop / Yard Based Fitter - H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd - Strood Depot, Kent

Job Title: Workshop/Yard Based Fitter

Reporting to: The Service Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 4.30pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch

Salary: £15.50 per hour + overtime at time and a half for hours worked in excess of 40 per week

Location: Strood – ME2 4DZ

Purpose:

We have a vacancy for a workshop/yard plant fitter to join our busy team based out of our Strood Depot. You will be required to provide effective fitting and servicing requirements for heavy plant machinery within the depot.

Primary Responsibilities:

As part of your duties you will be required to attend to routine servicing and maintenance of heavy plant machinery including Telehandlers, Excavators, Dumpers, Rollers, Tracked loaders (Bobcats) etc. Diagnostic checks and fault finding. Repairs as necessary to ensure hire equipment is fit for purpose. Completion of pre and post hire checks.

Arc/Mig welding – general welding and electrical circuitry would be useful

Basic 12/24 volt electrical work.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience of working with heavy construction plant and equipment

HGV Class 1 Driver - H. E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd - Hungerford Depot

Job Title: HGV Class 1 Driver

Reporting to: Depot Manager

Working Hours: Monday – Friday 8.00 – 4.30pm less 30min lunch but some early starts and weekend work may be required

Salary: Up to £16.50 per hour depending on experience

Location: Hungerford

Purpose:

To join an established team of drivers within our Hungerford Depot working for the UK’s largest specialist excavator hire company.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collection and delivery of a range of equipment to customers across the construction, utilities and infrastructure sectors. The role will involve the loading, delivery and collecting of construction equipment including Diggers, Dumpers, Telehandlers etc). Driver must be confident to be able to load and unload the equipment onto the lorry and deliver it safely and also participate in yard duties.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience – minimum of 6 months HGV driving experience commercially in the UK
  • Driving Licence with C+E category, CPC Qualification Card, DQC
  • Experience preferred in operating/moving plant but training can be given.
  • Positive attitude
  • Willingness to work some additional or weekend hours is desirable
  • Driving experience: 5 years
  • Load & Secure (preferred).
